Who is Melissa Magill?

For me, the best thing in the world is to hang out with my husband and son. Family in general is very important to me. My mom and my brother's family live nearby, and my sister's family still resides in the Chicago area. I was raised in Woodstock, Illinois, and although I currently live in Oklahoma, I'm very proud of being a Yankee!

I've had many opportunities to serve the Lord, both here in the United States, and overseas. After traveling to more than fifteen countries with family, college choir, and on missions trips, I went to YWAM (Youth With A Mission) in Salem Oregon for my Discipleship Training School. I love the Lord and the way He's always been there for me! My heart is to serve Him, whether it's with my feet and my hands, or with the stories He has given me to write.

My favorite family vacations (even weekend excursions) are ones where we can hike. One of our best memories on our honeymoon in Hawaii was when my husband and I went 'waterfall chasing' using an off-the-grid type of map. What an adventure!

Playing piano is a favorite pastime of mine, and teaching kids the gift of music is a joy for me. I am a certified K-12 music teacher, with an Undergraduate Degree in Vocal Performance, and I hold a Masters in Education. I taught for six years in a public school before my son was born, as well as three years part-time art and music at a local private school. I continue to teach private piano and voice lessons, and I am a professional organizer with my own business called Mastered Homes.

I was a member of ACFW (American Christian Fiction Writers) for five years and served as our local chapter's secretary from 2012-2014. I am blessed to have very talented and prolific authors in my life, who are willing to meet once a month for encouragement and practical writing advice! Using truths I've learned from my own life experiences, I enjoy writing stories in which, no matter how bumpy the road may seem, you'll always be led back home.
